Orientation Lock in iOS

You can lock orientation in iPad easily. But there is no button for orientation lock for iPhone and iPodTouch. However, we wanna lock orientation sometime. If you are using iOS 4.0 or higher , you can do it. Double click the home button and Multitask bar will appear. Scroll to the left and you will see iPod control and orientation button (the first left button).

You will see lock button at the status bar.

If you want to unlock, click lock button again

Multitasking and Home Screen Wallpaper in iOS4 iPhone 3G and iPodTouch 2G

Apple don’t support multitasking and home screen wallpaper. Ok, let we enable ourself. You need jailbreak and you also need know about SFTP.

For iPhone 3G

Open,

/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N82AP.plist

and then search

<key>multitasking</key>

and change to

<key>multitasking</key>
<true/>

For Home Screen Wallpaper , you should change like that.

<key>homescreen-wallpaper</key>
<true/>

For iPodTouch 2G

Open

/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N72AP.plist

<key>wifi</key>

add this after <true/>

<key>multitasking</key>
<true/>
<key>homescreen-wallpaper</key>

It will be like that

After Saving and uploading , restart your device. You will see multitasking and home screen wallpaper after reboot.

Great news! Now, iPhone , iPodTouch MC model can jailbreak for OS 3.1.3. It’s so easy to do.

Download Spirit . It have Windows and Mac Version. Run the app. Connect your deive with Computer. Click jailbreak button and wait. Your device screen will change and need to wait until finish. After that, you will see cydia on your Device. You can turnoff your iPhone,iPodTouch after jailbreak with Spirit. Spirit is not like blackra1n. You can turnoff and saving your power after jailbreak.

Configuration!!

PS: You need to backup Cydia first. After jailbreak, you will lost all Cydia Apps and Package.

Opera Mini Available on iPhone

Now, Opera Mini is available in iPhone , iPod Touch. You can download from app store and it’s free. Speed is blazing fast. But we can’t see some special webkit effect like rounded corner and some CSS 3 animation effect. If website is written by jQTouch , sorry Opera Mini can’t see it. Opera Mini is amazing fast but not useful for all website. Most of the iPhone website are design by iPhone Safari and using webkit css. So, we can’t use opera mini in our iPhone,iPod Touch to default surffing internet. Still opera mini can’t use flash in iPhone,iPodTouch. However, content is a king and you want to surf internet for information , opera mini is the best speed for iPhone , iPod Touch.

iStardict

If you are using stardict dictionary in Windows or Linux, you wanna use stardict in your iPhone/iPodTouch. Of course, we can use with WeDict. In the previous version of WeDict 1.0, it’s free. However, WeDict change to the pro version and we can’t get it free. So, we can change WeDict to other iPhone App, iStardict , free dictionary software for iPhone. Stardict have many dictionary and it may helpful to you. So, iStardict will helpful to you.

How to Install Dictionary
It’s too easy but you need wifi connection for that. For first time open, you don’t have dictionary and you will see like that.

You will get Address from there. ( in Picture, address is http://192.168.1.102:8080 ). After you get the address call that address in your browser (firefox, chrome, IE ,etc) and you will see like that.

Click browse to browse your stardict dictionary file ( *.zip ) and then submit it. After install click Back on the top. You will return to Settings Tab. You can find your installed Dictionary at Dictionary Tab.

You can search word in Search Tab. If you want to install another dictionary, go to Settings > Dictionary Install.

iPhone Explorer

Sometime you want to use your iPhone/iPodTouch like Memory Stick. We have many storage in our iPhone/iPodTouch and why don’t we backup some of our files ? Why can’t carry file ? Of course, iPhone/iPodTouch can do like with iPhone Explorer. Jailbreak need ? Answer is NO. It’s support to Mac and Windows. Just connect with USB and then you can browse with iPhone Explorer .You can add , remove your file like a memory stick (thumb drive).
